If you're considering breastfeeding or if you're not 100% sure breastfeeding is for you, then this is the workshop for you. Breastfeeding is of course natural however, the skills to breastfeed are something which require a learning process and practice for both yourself and your baby. Support and information in the antenatal period with breastfeeding are paramount in enabling you to reach your breastfeeding goals and will better equip you for when your baby arrives. The Antenatal Breastfeeding Workshop will cover: Position and attachment of your baby at the breast How to identify if breastfeeding is going well Common challenges to breastfeeding and how to overcome these challenges Expressing, storing breastmilk, feeding out and about, mixed feeding and using formula milk Identifying ways in which fathers/partners can develop relationships with their babies and how they can support you on your breastfeeding journey Identifying when and where to go for extra support Although the workshop is predominantly aimed at breastfeeding, there will also be some information about bottle feeding, including where to find the latest guidance. It is encouraged that fathers/partners attend the Antenatal Breastfeeding Workshop as there will be information provided which they may find useful.
